ABOUT BYTEANZA

Building for
tomorrow, today.

We’re a Kenyan research and innovations company connecting scientific ideas with practical engineering.

Our work begins where research meets everyday challenges. We build tools that help people understand their surroundings and act with better information.

RANGER is our flagship product and current focus. Our wider project history includes ByteLab, ByteGrow and Harvest Hub.

OUR BEGINNING

Friends first.
Builders since 2022.

Brian Kipruto Kosgei, Davis Mwangi Muhoho and Joshua Shouveek Omote met as teenagers in 2017. They founded Byteanza in late 2022, bringing their different interests in science, computing and practical problem solving into one company.

The name joins “Byte” with the Swahili “Anza”, meaning “to begin”. That idea of creating a starting point continues through our research, engineering and education work.

OUR EVOLUTION

From growing systems
to ground truth.

2022–2023

Start with a practical problem.

Agriculture and food-systems prototypes explored embedded sensing, controlled growing and the journey from farm to market.

2023–2024

Open the tools to others.

ByteLab launched in September 2023, bringing hands-on coding, robotics and scientific exploration to children and teenagers.

2025–2026

Build the evidence.

RANGER became our flagship, bringing together robotics, environmental sensing and traceable ground truth for Earth observation.
